General

To accept a quotation, we require a minimum of a 50% deposit. When this payment is completed the contract between Mike Rickwood & Sons LTD & the customer is created. By paying a deposit of any amount you accept our Terms & Conditions. All Goods remain property of Mike Rickwood & Sons LTD until payment is made in full. The remaining balance must be paid on the day or prior to delivery of the Goods/completion of Works.

Fitting/Delivery (Labour time) are an average of 2 weeks from the time of booking. Depending on the product, goods are delivered between 1 day – 12 weeks. Please contact us for a specific delivery date.

Free delivery is within an 18-mile radius of the store with any purchase of £50 and above. If the initial delivery failed due to reasons beyond Mike Rickwood & Sons LTD and a second delivery is requested, a charge may be applied.

All our products come with a standard 12-month Warranty unless stated otherwise on your invoice. If your warranty runs out and your product develops a fault, it is down to you the customer to prove that the fault was present before the warranty expired.

Flooring

Cancellation/Liability

  1. If the Customer chooses to cancel the Contract before delivery of the Goods, Mike Rickwood & Sons LTD shall retain the deposit and the Goods.
  2. The Company reserve the right to cancel the Contract at any time prior to notification of the Customer that the Goods are ready for delivery if it is unable to fulfil the order. In this event the Mike Rickwood & Sons LTD only liability is to refund any deposit or advance payment paid by the Customer.
  3. Property of the Goods shall pass to the Customer when Mike Rickwood & Sons LTD has received cleared funds payment in full for the Goods.
  4. Mike Rickwood & Sons LTD cannot accept any liability for incorrect measurements or specifications provided by the Customer.
  5. Pile reversal and shading (permanent light and dark patches) can occur on any carpet or rug. This is not considered to be a manufacturing defect.
  6. All products supplied may vary slightly in colour to that seen in samples. This is a result of different dye batches and unfortunately cannot be prevented. If you require an exact match, then we can provide a sample from our suppliers before ordering at a varying fee.

Installation

  1. Any dates quoted for delivery of the Goods are approximate only and whilst Mike Rickwood & Sons LTD will use its best endeavours to meet any delivery dates quoted it shall not accept any liability for delay or failure to meet delivery dates quoted. On average, Goods are delivered anywhere between 1 day – 12 weeks.
  2. If the Contract is for the supply only of Goods then at the Customer’s request Mike Rickwood & Sons LTD may recommend fitters but any dealings with and contract terms with such fitters are entirely a matter for the Customer.
  3. If the Contract is for the supply and fitting of the Goods then the Customer will clear the rooms in which Goods are to be installed and leave a flat smooth surface for the Goods to be installed upon by Mike Rickwood & Sons LTD or if the Customer requires Mike Rickwood & Sons LTD to clear the relevant rooms prior to installation. In the case that Mike Rickwood & Sons LTD are required to clear rooms prior to installation they will include the fees for furniture removal and uplift and disposal in their Estimate.
  4. We cannot 100% guarantee an absolutely perfect finish when we self level a floor, the only this way is possible is to pump screed into the property and finish with a laser level. Unfortunately, we do not offer this service but our method is to a very high standard.
  5. In the case that Mike Rickwood & Sons LTD is engaged to move furniture on the Customer’s behalf the Customer is still required to move small, valuable, breakable and electrical goods. Whilst every care is taken whilst moving furniture Mike Rickwood & Sons LTD cannot be held responsible for any damage that may occur whilst items are moved.
  6. If Mike Rickwood & Sons LTD has not been asked to quote for furniture removal/room clearance in advance of installation; but on the day of installation it is necessary for Mike Rickwood & Sons LTD, their employees and agents to move furniture then Mike Rickwood & Sons LTD reserve the right to make a fair charge to the Customer for the clearance of each room. Or refusal to complete the job if there is no time.
  7. It is assumed that the sub floor upon which the Goods are to be installed is flat and firm and free from damp or defect. Mike Rickwood & Sons LTD cannot be responsible if the sub floor requires treatment or repair and if required by the Customer before fitting of the Goods then such treatment or repair shall be charged to the Customer. Mike Rickwood & Sons LTD offer sub floor preparation and repair services.
  8. Mike Rickwood & Sons LTD are not responsible for hoovering of any carpet fluff after completion of fitting. In addition to this, Mike Rickwood & Sons LTD will not be held responsible for any slight marks left on skirting boards or walls although measures will be taken to try and prevent this.
  9. All areas must be clear of other trades or their equipment so fitting work may proceed with continuity.
  10. Decisions on carpet seam and pile directions are to be left to the discretion of Mike Rickwood & Sons LTD, thought you can decide prior to fitting.
  11. Charges will apply if we are engaged in unarranged door cutting, please speak to the office for the charge.
  12. Fitting is on the basis that convenient parking and access to the relevant rooms will be available. If parking charges apply these will be payable by the Customer immediately on receipt of an invoice from the Company. Carpets and associated materials are bulky and the Customer shall ensure that access will be possible on the date of delivery.
  13. If the Customer wishes to re-schedule an installation appointment the Customer shall give Mike Rickwood & Sons LTD a minimum of one weeks notice. If one weeks notice is not given to Mike Rickwood & Sons LTD then a fee may be applied be payable by the Customer in relation to the cancelled appointment.

Blinds

We dispose of old blinds for free, we only ask they are removed prior to installation.
  3. In the case that Mike Rickwood & Sons LTD is engaged to move furniture on the Customer’s behalf the Customer is still required to move small, valuable, breakable and electrical goods. Whilst every care is taken whilst moving furniture Mike Rickwood & Sons LTD cannot be held responsible for any damage that may occur whilst items are moved.

Beds & Furniture

  3. Property of the Goods shall pass to the Customer when Mike Rickwood & Sons LTD has received cleared funds payment in full for the Goods.

  5. Once a mattress has been delivered to a customers house we can only allow a refund on a good will policy on a case to case basis.

Delivery

  1.   2. In the case that Mike Rickwood & Sons LTD is engaged to move furniture on the Customer’s behalf the Customer is still required to move small, valuable, breakable and electrical goods. Whilst every care is taken whilst moving furniture Mike Rickwood & Sons LTD cannot be held responsible for any damage that may occur whilst items are moved.
  3. All areas must be clear for delivery of furniture, picture frames, rugs and other trades so delivery work may proceed with continuity. We cannot accept responsibility for any broken items when any damage could have been prevented
  4. Free delivery is on the basis that convenient parking and access to the relevant rooms will be available. If parking charges apply these will be payable by the Customer immediately on receipt of an invoice from the Company. Carpets and associated materials are bulky, and the Customer shall ensure that access will be possible on the date of delivery.
  5. The customer is also responsible to ensure that the product they are having will fit in their desired rooms. If it does not on the day of delivery a cancellation fee may apply.
  6. If the Customer wishes to re-schedule an appointment the Customer shall give Mike Rickwood & Sons LTD a minimum of one weeks’ notice. If one weeks’ notice is not given to Mike Rickwood & Sons LTD, then a fee may be applied be payable by the Customer in relation to the cancelled appointment.
  7. If we are disposing of an old mattress, it must be in a clean state and not soiled. Otherwise, we withhold the right to make an additional charge or refuse to take it.
